Oscar Wilde, the Irish poet, and writer, said this:
“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.”
Only 1% of the world’s population owns 40% of the global assets. The richest 2% of the world’s population owns more than 51% of the global assets. 60% of the world’s population owns less than 1% of the total global assets. Perhaps the saying that the rich get richer is true. Once you have money, it’s easy to get more.
But often, the wealthy neglect their spiritual health. If we would strive as hard for spiritual things as for money, we would all be better off.
There are many paths to wealth and we often strive to create abundance in our lives, but we must follow spiritual abundance as well. Our lives are more enjoyable when there is balance in each area.
Achieving wealth can take a certain number of years of discipline and hard work. If you can stay with it and remain responsible, then you will be rewarded with a strong, financial future. Obtaining spiritual strength is a journey like that. You must put effort into this endeavor. Take these steps to heart:
Read books about the spiritual journey of others for inspiration.
Connect with spiritual organizations that you trust.
Spend time meditating each day.
Forgive others quickly.
Be open to all the possibilities in the universe.
Remember that our spiritual life is just as important as our physical. Perhaps it is even more vital for true happiness.
